OLIVIER GLISSANT is a composer and producer from Martinique, Caribbean. He grew up in Paris, France and Martinique. He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston before moving to New York City where he began performing and producing records and soundtracks, navigating between classical, jazz, rock and world music. In 1999 he founded his own production company, Blacksalt Productions.

He has worked or collaborated with Philip Glass, Nora Jones, Paul Simon, Michael Brecker, Steve Gadd, Don Grolnick, Chris Botti, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Vincent N'Guini, Cyro Baptista, Tony Cedras, Tico da Costa, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Susan McKeown, Pete Seeger, Thione Seck, Baaba Maal, Shahram Shiva and Yungchen Lhamo among others.

His own music explores various styles, from opera to orchestral music to popular song and world music. He is currently working on the production of his first opera "Sechs Szenen aus dem Paradies" (Six Scenes from Paradise), in Vienna, Austria, written in collaboration with Austrian artist Markus Kupferblum, while composing his second opera, "Concert Baroque", based on the novel by Cuban writer Alejo Carpentier.

He has scored Television documentaries such
as "Un Siecle d'Ecrivains", by Guy Deslauriers, produced by Bernard Rapp for France 3 Television,
and is now focusing on scoring for films
and producing his first solo album.
