classical and North Indian traditions, African rhythms, and modal jazz. Harrison has collaborated with Shahram Shiva since 1996 to produce numerous concerts and events inspired by Rumi, culminating
in the new "Rumi: Lovedrunk" CD.

Harrison is most well known for his work with the "harmonically tuned” piano, where he has created radically new tunings based on overtones and harmonic resonance. His latest work, “Revelation,” received its U.S. premiere at Lincoln Center in 2001 and has been hailed as "… the path toward music's future" (Sequenza21, Stuart Isacoff, May 2003). Harrison has performed his original works throughout the U.S. and at major festivals in Europe. In addition, he teaches and performs concerts of North Indian classical music throughout the U.S. and in India with Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan and Terry Riley. Harrison studied composition at Juilliard, and was a senior student of India’s legendary vocalist Pandit Pran Nath and the protégé of minimalist godfather La Monte Young.
